Our Philosophy

Tai Chi as a Living Family Tradition

Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan is one of the five major Tai Chi families. The art passes from father to son and from master to disciple, and the family remains the highest authority on its practice. Our Academy preserves that tradition: classes are taught by lineage holders, not by instructors who learned from books.

The slow, flowing form is only the beginning. Push hands training develops sensitivity and balance, while weapons forms complete the martial curriculum. Whether your goal is health, meditation in motion, or authentic self-defense skill, the path is the same: precise posture, relaxed strength, and patient practice.

Wu Style's compact frame carries a precise inner logic: each posture seems to pause yet never stops, the weight turns on the solid leg, energy threads through small circles, and the form runs at an even, unbroken pace from Opening to Closing. Push hands, led by softness rather than force, shows how four ounces deflect a thousand pounds. A fuller introduction to the art and its lineage is on the Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan page.
